‘The romance that I experience with my friends is so invigorating'
Actress and writer Rebecca Humphries was thrown into the spotlight when the paparazzi caught her boyfriend kissing his Strictly Come Dancing partner. She wanted to reclaim her power and posted a statement on social media, including advice for women who might be experiencing what she realised she'd managed to escape: a toxic, oppressive relationship.
She joined Anita Rani on ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Radio 4's Woman's Hour to discuss prioritising your own self-worth, how her friendships helped her pull through, and her new book, Why Did You Stay? A memoir about self-worth. We approached Rebecca’s ex-boyfriend and the Strictly Come Dancing dancer for a right of reply, but have not had a response.
