Areas affected: The tidal Rivers Bure, Ant and Thurne
ACTIVE
Started at: 08:36 GMT on Tue 10 December
Flooding is possible - be prepared
This message has been issued because flooding of homes and businesses is likely today, Tuesday 10th December, and for at least the next 24 hours. This is due to a natural tide locking effect, as tidal water moving up the rivers from Great Yarmouth restricts the normal drainage of the Broads river system. We expect to see high water levels around Potter Heigham, Wroxham boat yards and Ferry Road in Horning. We are not currently expecting the situation to escalate, or to issue any further warning messages at this time. Take care on waterside roads and footpaths, and don't put yourself in unnecessary danger. We are monitoring the situation. We will update this message by 10am tomorrow, Wednesday 11th December, or as the situation changes.
