    Flooding is expected - immediate action required

    River levels continue to rise at the Welshbridge river gauge following heavy rainfall.  Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland continues.  We expect flooding to affect offices at the showground and Gravel Hill Lane. Predicted peak:- Welshbridge 4.1m to 4.4m Monday lunchtime, 09/12/24.

    No significant rainfall is forecast in the next few days. We expect river levels to remain high for several days.

    We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences and liaising with emergency services and Local Authorities.

    Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.

    Observed peaks:- Llanymynech peaked at 4.77m Saturday evening, 07/12/24, Crew Green 6.43m Sunday morning, 08/12/24.

    River levels are high and rising again in response to continued rainfall from Storm Darragh. Flooding is possible this afternoon and into this evening, 08/12/2024. Areas most at risk are Langford Garden Centre, Common Road, High Street, Riverside Gardens, Wilmon Court, Ivel Close and Mill Lane. Further light rainfall is forecast this afternoon which may see river levels rise further or stay high. The forecast is dry from tomorrow which will allow levels to start falling. Take care on riverside roads and footpaths, and don't put yourself in unnecessary danger. We are monitoring the situation and are not expecting it to escalate. We will update this message by 9am tomorrow, 09/12/2024.

    The river is slowly rising as ground water will keep levels high.
    Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the Middle Hampshire Avon, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around south of the A36 at Salisbury to Blashford in Ringwood including Charlton All Saints, Breamore, Fordingbridge and Bickton.
    The forecast is for no further rain in the next 24 hours.

    Flooding is possible - be prepared

    Flooding of low-lying land and roads is expected. Flooding to property is possible. Rainfall is currently affecting this area. River Levels will be above normal levels. Roads close to Meifod Bridge, the B4393 near Llansantffraid Bridge and the B4398 at New Bridge Llanymynech could also be affected by the rising levels. We will continue to monitor the situation. River levels at Llanymynech are expected to continue to rise through the morning to a peak of approximately 3.7m before falling slightly into the afternoon. However, river levels are then expected to rise again due to another pulse of rain entering the Vyrnwy Catchment with levels currently forecast to reach approximately 4.40m by 23:30PM today (05/12/2024).
