In January 2007, Carolyne woke up paralysed after a night out. Tests revealed she had suffered a spinal cord lesion after a blood vessel burst in her back. She had lived with this all her life and there were never any signs or reasons to detect it. There is no name for her condition and she is now T3 paralysed – from chest level down.
Carolyne's spent the past couple of years raising £30,000 to go and have stem cell treatment that could help her walk again.
Her disability has changed her life and ultimately she says, helped her find herself. All she ever did was work as a bar manager and spend weekends living it up with her mates, going on holidays, buying nice things. Now she knows who her true mates are and values time with her family.
Carolyne can be pretty blunt and likes things done in her own way. She loves to challenge herself and prove people wrong. She still loves going to pubs and will go to a club where she knows the door staff will carry her down the stairs.
Carolyne decided to take part in Dancing On Wheels because she would like to make able-bodied people aware that disabled people can do just as much, but in a different way.

Martin Offiah MBE is 42 and was born in London. He was an English rugby league and rugby union footballer during the 80s, 90s and 00s. His nickname "Chariots" is in reference to the film "Chariots of Fire". He's one of only six players to ever score drop goals for England and he was decorated with an MBE for his services to the nation’s sport.
In 2004 Offiah was one of the celebrities taking part in the first series of the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳'s successful Strictly Come Dancing, reaching fourth place with his partner Erin Boag. He currently works as a pundit for Sky Sports rugby league coverage. He was a regular studio guest during the 2008 Rugby League World Cup - and he presents a weekly Super League round up on Sky Sports News.
Martin is also a keen Funky House DJ. He reckons his late love for DJing is down to the fact that he missed out on partying in his youth, becoming a professional sportsman at such a young age. He’s now making up for lost time!
