Simone suffered a haemorrhage in her lower spine whilst on holiday at the age of eight. Since then she has had no use of her legs and suffers from AVM (arterio-venous-malformation) in her lower spine which means her veins and arteries run into each other and her neuro impulses become blocked.
Simone has a 1st class degree from Cambridge. As she is half Italian and half Jamaican she feels that dance and rhythm is part of her lifeblood. Despite being in a chair, dance has never left her life. She is always the first to brave the dance floor, moving to the music and always astounding people. She loves the passion in South American, Caribbean and West African dance music as well as Hip Hop, RnB and Funky House.
Simone is keen to challenge the archetypal images and ideas surrounding dance - especially for people with disabilities.
