Harry's used a wheelchair since he was 17 when his doctor discovered a cancerous five inch tumour on his spine. He was told he wouldn’t live for longer than six months. However, the doctors managed to remove the tumour but severed his spinal cord.
When he was little he used to dream of being a policeman, but when he became disabled he thought this dream would never become a reality. After spending six months in hospital in Bristol, he realised he had to pull himself together, accept his condition and get on with the rest of his life. A year after the operation he went back to college. This thrust him back into the real world. He tried to keep up with the party lifestyle of his friends, but this proved to be too much for Harry’s health. As a result he became more and more isolated from his peers and he was left questioning the nature of his life.
Three years ago he decided to travel to Thailand on his own. When he got there, he met a girl called Jah – a year later they were married and now live in Somerset with his mother. Having previously been active, Harry is looking for a new challenge and something to sink his teeth into.
