The
Cowley Road Carnival procession will be bigger and better than last
year.
Find

what the Punjabi Dancers will be up to at Cowley Road Carnival
2003.

It
will be led by the magnificent Sol Samba who are currently increasing
the size of their batteria for their amazing performance.
It
will also feature young members of the Carnival Creator Clubs, who
have been meeting in schools since October last year. They will
be performing a dance and singing a song.

The
Mass Carnival Choir, featuring 300 students from East Oxford's local
schools will also perform under the musical direction of Maurice
Dixon from Donnington Middle School.

Graeme
Surtees a local drummer and percussion teacher and Amanda Bott,
a choreographer, will also provide their expertise to help the procession
sound and look fantastic.
Also
included in the procession will be:
- The Bangladeshi, Sikh, Indian and Chinese communities
- The Tamil Association, the Irish Society
- Families from both Florence Park and Donnington Doorstep who
have been building costumes since May 2.
- and lots of others who have dropped into the "don't panic
- last minute, but fantastic" sessions held in May.
