Lady Agnes Holland

The eldest daughter of the eccentric 12th Earl Towyn, Lady Agnes was reared in a very damp castle in Wales. Beautiful and aristocratic, she was never well-off until Sir Hallam inherited his father’s fortune, title and 165 Eaton Place.

Despite financial hardship, and their initial struggle to have children, Lady Agnes’ marriage to Sir Hallam has been happy and devoted - she is the perfect wife: loving, supportive and a highly thought of political hostess. More recently, their family was completed by the births of their two children, and the couple consider themselves truly blessed by their arrival.

Aware of the growing tension in Europe, Lady Agnes returns to 165 determined to protect her family and support Sir Hallam. But with her husband increasingly otherwise engaged, and her family complete, Lady Agnes begins to question her position and look for a more fulfilling role in life.
