Mr Amanjit

Educated, gentle and imposing, Amanjit Singh came to Eaton Place as secretary to the late Lady Holland.

He was at first a shadowy and isolated figure, occupying a position that was neither upstairs nor down. However once he managed to break the ice, he became a welcome and respected member of their tribe. His nascent romance with Rachel, a German parlourmaid, was nipped in the bud when she died unexpectedly. He retains an interest her surviving daughter鈥檚 welfare.

Without Lady Holland to anchor him, Mr Amanjit feels without purpose in 165 until his a good cause brings him a renewed sense of fulfilment as well as a new acquaintance. But when his new friendship hits a stumbling block, Mr Amanjit begins to question his place and his identify.
