The youngest
of eight children, Dave Watson was brought up in the Nottinghamshire
village of Stapleford. After work as a farm labourer and trainee
electrician, his older brother arranged for him to have a trial
with Notts County and he became a professional footballer at the
age of 20. During his career he won an FA Cup medal in 1973 with
Sunderland and a League Cup medal with Manchester City in 1976.
Dave's career ended where it had begun at Notts County. He now runs
his own business.

Playing career with Notts County, Rotherham United, Sunderland,
Manchester City, Werder Bremen, Southampton, Stoke City, Derby County.
Sixty-five full England appearances. Man of the Match in 1973 FA
Cup final against Leeds United.

- Golf
After turning
professional in 1993 Lee, son of a retired school teacher made his
name in America winning the Freeport McDermott Classic in 1998 . When
Lee was sixteen, he was offered but turned down, a scholarship at
Augusta. In his first ever round of golf, Lee shot a score of over
170 and was easily beaten by his Dad. Matters soon changed. He was
voted 1999 European Golfer of the Year.
Key Achievements:
Six
European Tour victories; European Golfer of the Year (1998); Freeport
McDermott Classic (1998); 3rd in European Order of Merit(1997-98)
; Member of the 1997 Ryder Cup winning team.
