Your reviews and comments for Spooks 4 Episode 5:
"Great. All episodes have superb visual photographic quality (not jumping around too much) to go with well structured characters. The charging pace was made all the more entertaining by the range of domestic security issues and situations that the script writers seem continually able to conjour up. A true tour de force for the 成人论坛."
Carl Scott, Leamington Spa
"An episode that stood out from the rest of this series so far. It was good to see a broader set of characters involved in the programme instead of the Batman and Robin (Adam and Zaf) show we've had to put up with for the last four episodes. It was beginning to get pretty tedious with the same two characters always ending up miraculously saving the world."
Tim Montulet, Wolverhampton
"I enjoyed this episode and loved the big gun shooting scene. Though I feel the new female character is very weak and has been put into Spooks because she is attractive, and that's all. I just wish Ruth had a bigger part."
Michelle Furness , Sunderland
"An excellent episode but still lacking the gritty edge which earlier series and actors pulled off. The cinematography impressed me most about this episode and is best summed up by the shootout scene. The alternating slow and jittery camerawork really engaged the emotions. But I'm not really convinced with the portrayal of MI5 recruitment, a civilian straight of the street, perhaps. A journalist? Don't make me laugh!"

"Old-style Spooks is back. Phew - what an episode! Who to trust? Where are your loyalties? Who are the real baddies? Do ends always justify means? Just the kind of episode that got me into this in the first place. And a redeeming feature of all the plotting is that it doesn't seem as daft as usual that the same people who are leading the intelligence effort also act as field operatives, bodyguards, drivers, etc. This usually drives me mad but in this case there were only a handful of people Harry could trust with the jobs. Even so, would Adam's wife really drop him off dressed as a gasman about 10 yards from the target? Surely he'd arrive in a gas van (or at least she could drop him off round the corner!)"

"From a peak of Series 2, episode 5, the new series lacks pace, intensity and originality. There are so many scenes in the latest series which are contrived and overt. Does 成人论坛 ONE really give the audience so little credit that we cannot come to our own conclusions?
Particularly tiresome are the scenes between Adam and Fiona, which are obviously meant to illustrate the difficulties of balancing a home life with a career in the intelligence services, but are just frustrating. The plot involving their son was predictable and laborious. Have the writers really run out of original ideas?
Although there are moments of brilliance in this series, I have yet to be convinced."

"I thought this was a great episode: Spooks at its best. I like the way Ruth has been given a much higher profile in this series - it really works and I hope the new recruit doesn't change all that.
Adam has not so much replaced Tom - he's taken Spooks in a different direction, and you can't afford to lose either him, Harry or indeed Colin, Malcolm or Ruth. In my opinion, the series would fall apart without them."
Satori, London
"I think it became a little bit predictable with the journalist. From the moment Adam left her house and they were looking for a new employee, we knew she would be the obvious choice."
Gleann, UK
"With episode 5 Spooks was back to its best. It simply had everything to make an unmissable one-hour piece of drama.
However, I wonder, will our new Spook turn Adam Carter's attention from the job of keeping our country safe and cause a little unprofessional bonding?"
Mark , Enfield
"I think that they would never hire Jo without her doing the proper training. You can't judge her ability to be a spy by that alone. Also, does anyone get the feeling Adam is hogging the whole show? When it was Tom, Danny and Zoe they shared all the missions but now it's just Adam, which is a shame because I would like to see more of Zaf."
Izzy, Oxford
"Another object lesson in how to make an hour fly by. This probably was the best yet. This series has achieved unprecedented consistency. How they do it is the real mystery. Writers, directors (characters even) seem to be interchangeable yet the quality is sustained. What is the secret ingredient?"
Eric, Bolton
"What an amazing episode. This series is certainly building a great sub-plot for the final episodes. And why doesn't MI5 ever come and read my meter and then introduce me to 'such a funky way of earning a living'? Good quote, possibly best yet!"
Rosie, Sloan
"The moments between Harry and Ruth in this episode were, in a word, priceless!"
Ruth, London
