type of school but a great place of learning. If anyone went there
please drop me an email. Also Beeston Fields Secondary School around
the time of our Queen's Coronation. I have lived in Canada since 1975
and love it but sometimes I miss a good pint of Shipstones or Home

West Bridgeford
John & Carol Hall would love to hear from any old friends. We lived
in West Bridgeford from the mid fifties untill 1974 when we moved
to Africa. We have been living for the past 23 years on a diamond
mine in Namibia. On a recent visit (July 2002)we went for a drink
in a pub at the end of Stratford Road (near Central Avenue). We used
to live accross the road in the conrner house (Bridgeford Road). How
Nottingham has changed and what a stark contrast compared to Africa.

As a young man i had the pleasure of meeting a very nice family, of
course the attraction was the daughter whose name as I remember was
Alwyn, I had a few memorable visits to Braybrook, Nottingham about
1947--48 ( giving away my age now) and never ever kept up the association.
With the modern technolgy and the wonder of your site ,,maybe someone
has a connection to the family. The sirname being Asher. It would be
wonderfull just to say Hi.. to a past memory SO !!! who knows. Regards

alison muir
I have been trying to find Alison's whereabouts for about a year now.
We were at Trent College together in 1979 and 1980 and lost touch
fairly soon after when she went to Oxford and I joined the Navy. I
now live in Memphis, Tennessee and have had no luck finding her on
the Trent College website. I am originally from Nottingham, although
I lived in the Long Eaton area from 1972 to 1980. The schools I went
to were Robert Shaw, Portland Junior School, Harrington Junior and
Trent College. Very definitely a Forest fan living in exile in the
Bible Belt.

Nottingham in the 80's
Hello all to those who know of me. Left in 87 and came to Sydney Australia.
Had a great time in Nottingham, namely clubbing it at Ritzy's, Madisons
and Easy Street but loved the Orchards. Played soccer for Parkhead
and Padstow and recently met a guy who played against us for Clifton
All Whites. His name was Dean Hennessey and lives in Melbourne. He
scouts for Derby County and has set up an academy down under. I think
for those in Australia we should have an Ex Pat party. All of you
that are interested please email me. It has to be strictly pies mushy
peas and heaps of beer (shipstones)

Tracing Deborah
It was in 1979 since I began to listen to 成人论坛 world service when I
was a secondary student in China. In 1983, I made a British penfriend
via 成人论坛. We exchanged corespondences for several years, including
campact cassettes and pictures, and so on and so forth. Unfortunately,
we lost contact after my graduation. Now I have come to the University
of Nottingham to do my LLM here and I would like to trace her so as
to contact her. I was just wondering if you could offer me some help
in doing so. To be honest, I have been a devoted and loyal audience
of 成人论坛, and I learned a lot from your programmes such as Question
and Answers, Just A Moment,Can I Help You, Sadrina Project, Walter
and Connie, Follow Me, Follow Me in Science,Bidding for Power, and
so on.The process of tracing her could be regarded as a contribution
to the development of freindly relations between British and Chinese
peoples, and therefore it is both conducive and worth-while doing
so. All the informations about her I can provide is as follows: Her
name is Deborah Ann(?)Brown, Deb for short, lived in a town(or district)called
"Swinton", in Nottingham(?), her hair was curled, her fiance at the
time was Malcolm, she liked collecting toys, she sent me a compact
cassette recording the most popular songs at the time, including "Do
you really want to hurt me ?","New Life","Ghost"and so on. My name
was "Little Red", and I was an English major at Anhui Normal University
in China. I still have several pictures of her and I have brought
them with me to the UK.I am always dreaming of her and looking forward
to seeing her before I go back to China. As you can understand it
is quite rare to meet an old penfriend in her home country, and possibly
I will not be able to meet her in my whole life if I missed this cherished
opportunity. I am thinking if you could find her address in your penfreind
files recorded in 1980's, or from the magazine entitled 成人论坛 English,
or just ask your audience (or even police) for help. I should be grateful
if you could donate your generous assistance for me.Your early notice
and consideration will be highly appreciated. Note: I came back to
China last November and found another quick note she wrote to me from
Ravenshead, Nottingham on 07/01/1984. SHENG Hongsheng LLM in International

Looking for David Sharp
I have a rather strange request but I hope that you will indulge
me. I am looking for an individual named David Sharp who lived or
lives in Nottingham. We have been searching for quite a while. Living
in the US has made it hard to come up with any leads other than the
name. We have no pictures. David Sharp had a relationship with Isabel
"Ann" MacConnell in 1965-66 at which time she became pregnant with
a daughter, my wife Dorothy. He was a Cook in the Navy and apparently
has two sons. Apparently he was married at the time he was involved
with Ann and did not acknowledge the relationship or his daughter.
We do not need anything from Mr. Sharp but are curious about who he
is and frankly, what he looks like. If you can help please reply.

Seeking Wrinkly Friends
I'm 80, so you'll have to be getting on to remember me, specially
as I left Nottingham in 1963, to work in the Yorkshire Dales National
Park. I left Westdale Lane School (the wooden hut, headmaster Jimmy
Wright) in 1936. worked for the GPO as a Telegraph Messenger , later
Sorting Clerk until 1941, RAF Middle East until 1946; back to the
GPO until 1948, then worked for Ericcson's at Beeston for a year (The
year of the Great Flood!) 6 years radio and TV servicing at Clark's
of Netherfield then back to Ericssons DH department until the Plessey
takeover. At the age of 41, much to my surprise, I got the job of
Head Warden in the West Riding Dales and remained in the National
Park Service until I retired in 1983. Came to live in Kirkcudbright
with my wife Joan (nee Beresford) soon after and we celebrated our
Gol! de! n Wedding here in 1999. If anyone remembers either or both
of us please e-mail proctorwilf@aol.com - reply guaranteed!

Looking for Conabree Family that live in Nottingham
Early this year we found out we had relatives that lived in England.Through
the electoriallist I found the name of Emma L. Conabree, they gave
her address as 42 Inman Road,Harlesden,London,England. I wrote to
her,but the letter was sent back with no forwarding address. I wrote
to the occupant, of that address and she informed me that Mrs. Conabree,an
elderly lady, has moved in with her daughter and son-in-law in Nottingham.
I do not know the daughter's married name, so am unable to contact
them.I am very anxious to find her, and to get to know her, and her
family,to let her know that she has over 100 relatives here in Canada,
which I am sure she does not know about. Any help or information would
